2006 - Flight Lieutenant M E W Pert
The Bromet Memorial Trophy for 2006 was presented to Flight Lieutenant Martin Pert for his outstanding season as the 2006 Hawk Aerobatic Solo Display Pilot. During the season, he flew 44 displays, many of them at various locations in Europe. Approximately 3 million people watched his displays, and the squadron received countless letters, telephone calls and emails congratulating him. Below is a photograph of Martin at the controls of the 2006 Display Hawk, which also marks the achievement of over a million flying hours by the UK Hawk fleet.
